Jim Robertson

Jim Robertson attended El Camino College studing seven semesters with Charlas Bluske for Design and took a watercolor class with
Mr. Green sparking an interest in watercolor. Attended a summer class at Otis College in Los Angeles with Noel Quinn. Graduated with an AA degree from Harbor College in Wilmington, Ca. Jim has studied with a number of America's finest watercolorists, including, Bob Peck and Rex Brandt. Jim has received private tutoring from Watson Cross Jr. and has continued to develop his technique by attending workshops with Milford Zornes
and Henry Fukahara.
Jim has also attended weeklong
workshops in Cambria, California with
Tony Van Hasselt,
 has participated in the Green Valley Lake Summer School with Robert E. Wood,
and a week long workshop at Art Box Studio in Pomona, CA. with Frank Webb.
Jim has been a member of various art associations and since 1988 been a member of the San Pedro Art Association in Southern California. As past president of this well established group, he has directed many of the association's shows and encouraged
other artist with his own unique and vivid style.
Jim Has developed a style encompassing the delicacy of the watercolor medium and a sense of boldness and vitality which sets his work apart. He continues to practice watercolors depicting his love of the California scene, reflecting the gusto of rhythmic line work and harmonious colors weaving a tapestry of interrelated counterpoints. Through his masterful use of the delicate tonalities juxtaposed with a bold rendering of his subject, Jim's work captures the essence of California's varied vistas.
